While our Sunday morning UP corporate worship experience is a great piece of any disciple’s faith journey, it is essential to be IN smaller groups where you can grow in your relationship with Christ, deepen your relationships with other believers, and encourage each other to be more like Jesus daily.
Our IN groups are numerous and varied in their aims, but primarily fall into two categories: Growing Groups and Serving Groups. It is our desire that you take part in one of each.
We want everyone plugged IN for growth, discipleship, care, and community!
Life Groups
Life is better when you’ve got a crew!
You were designed by God to live in community. Life Groups create a space for people to intentionally share their lives with others, grow spiritually together, and encourage each other through the highs and lows of life. Over 30 groups meet throughout the week, in Lexington, Nicholasville, Wilmore, and Versailles.

Adult Education

This long-standing class is centered around an in-depth study of a book of the Bible and taught by a team of teachers.
Young Marrieds & Growing Families

This is a community of couples exploring marriage and parenting children and teens from God’s perspective. Led by seasoned couples with a heart for mentoring and sharing Godly wisdom as they navigate being parents of adult children.

Ever smiled and nodded through a conversation, hoping you understood? Or hesitated to reach out to someone because you weren’t sure what might be off-limits or offensive in their culture? You’re not alone. With more than 33 nations represented right here at FAC, chances are you’re one conversation away from a friendship that could change how you see God, the world, and your own neighborhood. This fall elective won’t just talk about culture, it’ll give you practical tools to read what’s really being communicated, ask questions that open doors instead of closing them, and move past the awkward first steps into friendships that last.

Drop in anytime to check out what we are currently diving into. Our class purpose is to pursue spiritual maturity and discover spiritual freedom in this life with Jesus. Our class is open to everyone, from youth to senior adults. We are journeying together toward a Spirit-led deeper walk with Christ by focusing on matters of the heart.
Cultivating a Greater Awareness of God
September 13-November 15
This seminar is based on the best selling book, The Miracles Among Us by Dr. Marc Siegel. During this 10-week class, we will foster a greater awareness of God at work in our daily lives by discussing the stories in Siegel’s book, reflecting on our own experiences, and practicing helpful frameworks for increased awareness.

Are you new to faith in Jesus? Are you wondering what the basics of Christianity are all about? Then this class is for you. Start Here is just what it sounds like, a starting point in your faith journey to explore the incredible God we serve and His Word. We want you to feel equipped and supported as you learn more about who God is and as you explore the Christian faith.
College Ministry
We love being the “home” church for so many college students! We invite every college student to participate in Worship + 2 during the school year.
If you want to participate in college group communication, please join the College Ministry group through the Church Center app and make sure your phone number is in your profile.
The Table
Begins September 2
We launched our new ministry called The Table this past September. This is a space where couples and families from our church open up their homes and invite you—college students and young adults—to come share a meal. It’s not about another church service or another lecture; it’s about real relationships. It’s about friendship, prayer, encouragement, and making room at the table for you. This ministry also came with a dream for a move of evangelism on college campuses. We want there to be a place for you guys to bring your friends who maybe aren’t believers, but are asking questions about faith and need a space to do that. We also have been using tools from Alpha USA. If you want to be aware of announcements, make sure to watch our Instagram.
Young Professionals
Our Young Professionals group is a community of post-school individuals, both single and married, in our 20s and 30s who are pursuing and learning together what it means to follow Jesus.
On Thursdays at 6:30pm, we share a potluck meal together and break into small groups. This fall’s study is the book of Ephesians.
Senior Adult Ministry
Senior Adult Ministry refers to ministries to, for, and with the more senior members of the FAC community. (We don’t draw a strict age range.) This is a vibrant, active, and important segment of our life and identity as a church family.
Senior adults of FAC are actively engaged in leadership in Worship, Adult Education, Children’s Ministries, Life Groups, Guest Services, as well as less visible work as mentors, prayer partners, and support for a variety of servant ministries.
The Lunch Bunch
You are invited to join a group of friends enjoying a casual lunch together on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 11:30am. The location varies. Check the Connector for location and details.
The Gathering
You are invited to a time of fellowship, laughter, encouragement, support, and prayer. Guest speakers and programs round out the evening. Bring a snack or dessert to share, and be ready to be welcomed, encouraged, and inspired. We meet the fourth Sunday of most months. Check the Connector for monthly details.

Join us for a reimagined kick off to the year in Women’s Ministry! This year’s event will look a little different and focus on the faithfulness of God. We will have worship, a speaker, some fun trivia, and a light breakfast available as well as hear a brief overview of ways to engage in Women’s Ministry.

Fall Bible Study:
Deborah and the Judges
Begins the week of September 13
The Book of Judges narrates one of the most chaotic and morally dark eras of Israel’s story. Into this morally ambiguous time comes one of the most unlikely leaders of the biblical text—the prophet Deborah. Also a wife, mother, priest, and judge, Deborah responds to her call and transforms chaos into order by leading Israel in one of the most pivotal victories of her time.
Join beloved scholar and professor Dr. Sandra L. Richter as she illustrates the era of the Judges by means of the archaeological record, historical geography, cultural context, and the hard facts of warfare in the ancient world. This eight-session Bible study draws you immediately into the grand tale of Deborah and challenges you, as a Christ-follower, to ask yourself where God wants to expand his kingdom in your realm of influence today.
You will consider and answer three critical questions:
- What territory can you see from where you’re standing that you know belongs to the Kingdom, but is not yet won?
- Is it worth fighting for?
- Are you willing to step out on faith and trust God for the victory?
Groups meet on various days and times throughout the week and both in-person and online.
Ascend: A Mentor Ministry
The goal of Ascend is for women to partner with other women and encourage them on their faith journey with Jesus. Mentors and mentees will commit to meeting 6 times, September-December, with specific parameters. If you think you would be interested in serving as a mentor or being paired with a mentor as a mentee, you can complete our online application.
MomGroup
Third Tuesday of each month at 9:30am
The goal of MomGroup is to encourage each other once a month through community and speakers while providing food and childcare for birth through Pre-K. Moms of any age are welcome!
Infertility Group:
Waiting for Hope
Twice a month on Tuesdays, 6:00-8:00pm
This new group is aimed at pointing women to Jesus as their only hope as they navigate the journey of infertility. This may include women who are struggling with infertility, miscarriage, on the journey of adoption, in a season of prolonged waiting, and more. The group will aim to foster community, encouragement, strength and hope and to help you know you are not on this journey alone. The group will walk through a curriculum offered by Waiting in Hope, a national infertility ministry.

Freedom Group:
The Journey
Thursday nights
This is a group for women whose spouses have struggled with sexual integrity (infidelity, pornography, etc). This group will meet for 10-12 weeks and go through a curriculum exploring topics of anger, fear, trust, and forgiveness. This group seeks to be a Christ-centered safe place where you’ll be met with understanding, love, and hope.
Freedom Group:
Finding Balance – Freedom and Food
Monday nights
Food is a gift from God. But like all gifts, we can develop habits and patterns that distort this good gift. This group is designed to help women find Jesus in the middle of their struggles with food, exercise and body image challenges. The group will meet beginning January 22 at 6:30pm in the Lower Auditorium Chapel. This group will be confidential in Planning Center.
Women’s Ministry Wisdom Team
This beautiful group of women represents different ages, stages, backgrounds, spiritual gifts, personalities, and ministry service areas and will serve as our new “wisdom team” during this time. They represent some of our ministry areas as well as valued wise voices at the table.
As we head into fall, you will see them serving at our Fall Kick-off and in various leadership roles in our different areas of ministry. We are thankful for their “yes!” to serve on this team and their commitment to providing prayer support, a listening ear, and wise counsel as they see the whole of our Women’s Ministry.

Men’s Mid(ish)-Week

This fall we’ll begin an exciting journey through the Letters of Paul in the order they were written, studying one chapter each week using the inductive Bible study method: observation, interpretation, and application.
Whether you’re new to studying Scripture or have been doing it for years, you’ll find practical discussion, meaningful fellowship, and a hot breakfast waiting for you every Thursday morning.
Monday Night Men’s Study (MnMs)

This fall we’ll be studying the book Run Over by the Grace Train by Joby Martin.
What does it really mean to live in God’s grace? This study explores the life-changing power of the gospel and challenges us to move beyond guilt, performance, and religion into the freedom and purpose found in Christ. Together we’ll discover how God’s grace doesn’t simply forgive us—it transforms the way we live, lead, and love.
Whether you’re joining us for the first time or returning after some time away, this is the perfect opportunity to jump in.

The purpose of this group is to help each other walk in freedom from anything that keeps us from living the life that Jesus purchased for us on the cross. Please enter through the main entrance.

Men’s Ministry Fall Retreat
Friday, October 16 to Sunday, October 18
What does it look like to be truly hot for Christ—not cold, not lukewarm, but fully committed to following Him wherever He leads?
Join us as Dr. Jason Esposito of CrossWay Church in Germantown, Wisconsin challenges us to embrace wholehearted discipleship and the risks that often come with living boldly for Jesus. Worship throughout the weekend will be led by Ashton Boyd of Life Church in Huntington, Indiana.
This will be a time to grow in God’s Word, strengthen relationships, and be encouraged in your walk with Christ. Our retreat will be at Laurel Lake Baptist Camp; cost is $100.
