Worship + 2

We want everyone who calls First Alliance their home church to:
- Commit to a weekly worship service (8:15, 9:30, 11:00, or 12:30)
- Participate in a Growing Group
- Join a Serving Group
While our Sunday morning UP corporate worship experience is a great piece of any disciple’s faith journey, it is essential to be IN smaller groups where you can grow in your relationship with Christ, deepen your relationships with other believers, and encourage each other to be more like Jesus daily.
Our IN groups are numerous and varied in their aims, but primarily fall into two categories: Growing Groups and Serving Groups. It is our desire that you take part in one of each.
We want everyone plugged IN for growth, discipleship, care, and community!
Life Groups

Our Life Groups meet in homes all throughout the week all over the Lexington area. If you’d like to get connected into a Life Group, click the button below. We have over 20 groups meeting this quarter!
Please note that groups will be filled in the order that requests are submitted. Should your requested group reach capacity before you sign up, we will contact you and we will do our best to find you an alternative group to join. Thank you for understanding.

Other Options
Men’s One Year Online Bible Reading
January 12 – April 3
Taught by Nathan Boyd, Doug Matthews, and John Doss
For this pilot program, FAC is marrying Adult Education and Men’s Ministry by offering the first unit of the One-Year Men’s Bible (OYB) “reading and understanding” experience in an on-line format during winter quarter. The foci for this on-line men’s group at FAC are: to participate in reading the Bible together, to encourage one another, and to ask questions or make comments on-line. Nathan Boyd (men’s leader), Doug Matthews (theology prof’), and John Doss (biblical studies prof’) will periodically monitor and engage with the interactions.
FAC Read the Bible in a Year journals with the schedule will be available in the church Atrium in mid December. Reading through the Bible is an incredible opportunity for growth together!
God Owns It All:
World-Influencing Fiscal Freedom and Generosity
Taught by Deb MacKay
We live in the wealthiest nation in the history of the world. So why don’t we feel rich? Why do we experience so much discontentment?
This class seeks to clarify God’s will for your finances by applying biblical principles and wisdom so that you can experience contentment, fiscal confidence, better family communication and planning, and world-influencing stewardship.
College Ministry

In addition to so many college students joining us for worship on Sunday mornings throughout our four services, this fall was fun to connect with our students relationally.
We have become more involved on Transylvania University’s Campus and have a weekly meeting there that has been going very well. We have continued to see fruit weekly from those times, and God’s truth is being spread on a campus that is hard to minister on.

We have had many students attend The Furnace 7:00am morning prayers at WGM on Asbury’s campus. We aim to teach our students the value of praying and what it means to walk in a regular rhythm of dependent prayer.
Away and Pray has just been announced for Presidents Day weekend in February 2025, and we will soon start advertising it through our channels.
Be sure you are subscribed to our Group Me! Reach out to get on the list. Also make sure to follow our Instagram @first_alliance_college to stay up to date everything going on this semester!
We love having students from UK, Transy, Asbury, BCTC, and more!
Young Professionals
Enriching community and impactful discipleship are two things that can seem fleeting when you enter into post-college adulthood; it’s not unusual to become overwhelmed when searching for these two vital aspects of the Christian life. Our Young Professionals group is a community of post-school individuals, both single and married, that are pursuing and learning together what it means to follow Jesus. We eat, laugh, study Scripture, praise God, serve our First Alliance family, and reach out to our neighbors together.
During the summer we take a break from our regularly scheduled Bible studies that meet in various home groups and host events for our Young Professionals community at large to have fun together and help foster deep relationships. Sign up using the button below if you would like to join one of our groups!

Bible Studies
The Attributes of God
Wednesday nights, 6:30-8:00pm
Starts April 16
This 7-week study of God’s character walks through God’s incommunicable attributes, which are characteristics that are only true of Him, as well as His communicable attributes, which are attributes that we are called to reflect. When we know God, we love Him, and He changes everything.
Attributes of God will be one of our summer study options. This group is geared toward women who may not be able to join this study in the summer or who are working through the Bible in a year and may also want a secondary study.
One Year Bible
Wednesday nights, 6:30-8:00pm
One of our FAC core values is being biblically grounded, so we are offering resources and groups to read the Bible in a year in 2025! We have designed our very own Bible in a Year journal and have some additional video, audio, and print resource suggestions to help you along the way.

MomGroup
Third Tuesday of each month at 9:30am
MomGroup meets on the third Tuesday each month in the FAC Arena from 9:30-11:30am throughout the school year (September-April). Our goal is to encourage one another through fellowship and speakers while providing food and childcare for birth through Pre-K. Moms of any age are welcome. Register yourself and your littles on the app or at faclex.com.

Life to Life
Life to Life’s purpose is helping women grow deeper in our walks with God and each other. We encourage and invest in each other through genuine care and intentional conversation!
There is no preparation or homework with these groups. Some meet in homes; others meet in coffee shops. It is up to the facilitator of the group. We try to offer a variety of days and times that might suit your schedule.
So if you are yearning for intentional connection through conversation with other women in our church this might be for you. Register now! Groups meet once a month at varying times.

Lift (formerly Secret Sisters)
1 Thessalonians 5:11 calls us to encourage one another and build each other up. LIFT is an intentional community of women that lift each other up in prayer and encourages women through the gift of presence, community and a one time small personal gift. LIFT will meet the 4th Sunday of the month, January-April.
Women’s Ministry Wisdom Team
This beautiful group of women represents different ages, stages, backgrounds, spiritual gifts, personalities, and ministry service areas and will serve as our new “wisdom team” during this interim time. They represent some of our ministry areas as well as valued wise voices at the table.
As we head into fall, you will see them serving at our Fall Kick-off and in various leadership roles in our different areas of ministry. We are thankful for their “yes!” to serve on this team and their commitment to providing prayer support, a listening ear, and wise counsel as they see the whole of our Women’s Ministry.

Intergenerational Ministry

Pastor of Intergenerational Ministry
Newcomers quickly recognize that FAC is a full family church home. That is increasingly uncommon in churches today.
We believe this is a gift of God, and that we are called to steward it well. At FAC we are committed to ensuring that every thing we do reflects and builds on this great blessing and strength. It is more than making sure we have programs for every age and stage of life—it is building on the understanding that we are one body, one calling, and one family. Not just multi, but intergenerational in worship, in discipleship, in mission and service.
