Serving Groups
Find a role that fits your gifts

As summer approaches, many of our faithful volunteers head out for break or family vacations, but our ministries don’t slow down! This is a great opportunity to step in and make a meaningful impact, especially in FAC Kids, Parking, Guest Services, and our CORE Team.
Whether you can serve once or all season, your time helps create a welcoming, life-giving environment for everyone who walks through our doors. Whatever your interests, gifts, or time, there is an opportunity for everyone as we carry out our vision of being a loving community of disciple-makers. Take a look below and reach out to us about how you can serve this summer!
Next Gen

Part of our vision at FAC is to be disciple makers who serve and reach generations with the Gospel, which is something that happens every week in our Next Gen ministries! From our infants who are being prayed for by their caregivers each Sunday to our high school seniors who spend Wednesday nights with their group leaders talking about what it looks like to live out the Gospel post-graduation, children and students have the opportunity to have their lives transformed by Jesus because someone said yes to serving with them.
Nursery (Birth – 2 years)
- Our Infant and Toddler Room volunteers provide a nurturing, safe environment for the youngest members of First Alliance! Serve once or twice a month during one of our three services (8:15, 9:30, or 11:00).
Contact Hannah Meredith if you’re interested in serving.
Preschool (2 years – Kindergarten)
- Lead teachers serve in an age based classroom (2s, 3s, 4s, or Ks) each Sunday of the summer (or school year, Aug-May) during one service. They lead Bible storytelling time, direct activities to go along with the provided lesson, and get to build relationships with our awesome preschoolers and Kindergartners.
- Preschool assistants serve once or twice a month, helping the lead teacher with activities, managing the classroom, and building relationships with our kids.
- Our Check-In Team serves as greeters, welcomes new families and inputs information into our computer system, and helps monitor FAC Kids spaces for safety throughout the morning. Serve once a month during two services (8:15 & 9:30 or 9:30 & 11:00).
Contact Hannah Meredith if you’re interested in serving.
Elementary (1st – 4th Grade)
- During the 9:30 service, our small group leaders guide a grade and gender based group of students through a time of relationship building, participation in our large group lesson, and Wrap Up, where they get a chance to dive deeper with their group into the day’s lesson.
- At the 11:00 service, all 1st-4th graders gather and learn together in one large group. Our Elementary Team volunteers assist our lead teacher in engaging students, discussing fun and serious things, looking up Bible verses, and playing games that tie in with the day’s lesson.
Contact Tim Davis if you’re interested in serving.
Middle School (5th – 8th Grade)
- On Sunday mornings at 9:30, our small group leaders co-lead a small group of students through a series of provided discussions and activities to help reinforce the lesson taught in large group. Serve each week of the school year, August through May.
- On Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:00pm, our small group leaders co-lead a small group of students through discussion questions and activities to build on the lesson taught in large group. Serve each week of the school year, August through May.
Contact Tanner Fouts if you’re interested in serving.
High School (9th – 12th Grade)
- On Sunday mornings at 9:30, our High School team is focused on building relationships with students, as they lead discussion around tables, engage in fun and serious conversation, and foster community within this large group gathering of all 9th through 12th graders.
- On Wednesday nights from 6:00-8:00pm, small group leaders share a meal with students, engage with the weekly message taught by the large group leader, and end the night co-leading their grade and gender based small group. Serve each week of the school year, August through May.
Contact Dan McPherson if you’re interested in serving.
College Ministry
- Table leaders are couples or families who open their homes to a small group of college students and young adults to share a meal with them. The Table is all about relationship building, prayer, encouragement, and making space for students to grow in their relationship with Jesus.
Contact Kendall McKee if you’re interested in serving.
Guest Services Team

Whether it is serving a cup of coffee, giving a high five at the door, or directing a new family to appropriate children’s areas, our Guest Services Team is ready to serve you every Sunday.
Guest Services is the first point of contact for visitors to our church. We get to partner with what God is doing in people’s hearts and help define their first experiences at First Alliance. We also love to help our church family by answering questions and hosting services!
Curious about what role you may enjoy most?
- The Parking Team directs traffic flow and ensures our guests and church family have a good experience from the moment they drive on the property. They are also part of the Safety Team.
- Door Greeters welcome guests and answer questions at our church doorstep.
- Welcome Center Hosts work at our welcome center to greet guests and hand out our FAC gift baskets! They direct guests to different parts of the building for ministries and collect visitor contact info so church staff can follow up with guests.
- Coffee Bar Attendants host the coffee area, restocking cups and creamers and brewing coffee to ensure a fresh supply all morning long.
- Ushers help people find seats and welcome them to the sanctuary. They also record the attendance count.
- Additional Worship Space Hosts greet, usher, and serve our additional environments of worship for those who prefer it or who are directed there because space in the Sanctuary is at capacity.
We give you all the tools and training you need for each of these roles, and times and dates are flexible to fit your volunteer availability. Please contact us to get started! We look forward to serving with you!
CORE Team

This summer, the Cleaning, Organizing, Repairing, and Equipping (CORE) Team is seeking volunteers to help with general cleaning. Skills needed include operating a vacuum and/or steam cleaner and using towels and spray cleaners. This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to serve during the week and for families who would like to volunteer together. Light physical capabilities needed include standing for long periods and kneeling. If interested, contact Sally Tandy.
Prayer Team

Do you have a heart for prayer? We’d love to talk with you about serving on one of our Prayer Teams!
Sunday Prayer Team
Our Sunday Prayer Team is looking for people willing to listen, pray, and encourage individuals at the front of the Sanctuary after services. This team is a vital part of our Sunday mornings!
Contact Kaylee Jo Bullock for more information.
Front-Line Prayer Team
The Front-Line Prayer Team receives time sensitive, urgent prayer requests via email that are submitted to our church staff or through our website.
Contact Kaylee Jo Bullock for more information.
Worship Team

If you are an instrumentalist or vocalist and are interested in serving as a part of the worship team, we would love to connect with you. Most worship team members are scheduled one week a month, which involves some personal preparation, a Wednesday night practice, and Sunday morning services. Contact Zeke Friedeman if you are interested.
Tech Team

We have several great opportunities to plug in with tech ministry at FAC! If you’d like to participate in our Sunday morning experience through any of the following positions, we are more than happy to train and equip you to be a part of ministry in a “behind the scenes” capacity.
- Audio: We need some more audio volunteers to run sound for our Sunday morning services. Our audio volunteer is responsible each week for both the sanctuary audio as well as what goes out to the broadcast on all platforms!
- Computer: If you have ever wanted to try your hand at running the graphics on the projectors, your help would be much appreciated! Minimal training is required, but it is an important position that requires concentration and timing!
- Director: We’d love to add a few members to the director team. This team both controls the camera angles and switches between the different cameras that are shown on the broadcast each Sunday. This a very active position and allows for those in our congregation not able to come in person to have a great online experience and also serves as a common way that people check out FAC before attending in person.
- Photography and Videography: If you have previous experience in photography or videography or would like to learn, we’d love to have you join this team! We provide you with the camera, you just spend the morning taking pictures and videos of different ministries and moments that take place! It’s a fun way to use your gifts and see all the different things that go on over the course of a Sunday at FAC.
People in these roles serve one Sunday a month and we’d love to have you! Contact Eric Lynch for more information.
Congregational Care Teams

Would you be willing to visit someone who is homebound or help with our Baptism Sundays? We would love to talk to you about being a part of one of our teams! Contact Kensi Duszynski for more information.
Keeping in Touch Ministry (KIT)
Our Keeping in Touch ministry focuses on staying connected with those within our church family that are homebound or home-limited. Each monthly visit may include a time of prayer, a delivery of a small baked good or seasonal gift, and the latest issues of Engage or Alliance Life Magazine.
If you’re interested in joining this team or know of someone who would enjoy being visited, please contact Kensi Duszynski.
Baptism Team
The Baptism Team’s goal is to facilitate a joy-filled experience for those getting baptized at FAC! By preparing the spaces, hosting the individuals and families, and engaging in a loving way, this team will help serve and celebrate those being baptized. If you’d like to serve cookies in the Atrium, blow up balloons, prepare the Baptism Room, or host families and individuals getting baptized, we’d love to have you.
Contact Tyrone Vinegar if you’re interested in serving.
