Opportunities for young adults and beyond

We desire that every person who calls FAC their home church to be IN a group! While our Sunday morning UP corporate worship experience is a great piece of any disciple’s faith journey, it is essential be IN a smaller group where you can grow in your relationship with Christ, deepen your relationships with other believers, and encourage each other to be more like Jesus daily.

Our IN groups are numerous and varied in their aims, but primarily fall into two categories: Growing Groups and Serving Groups. It is our desire that you take part in one of each.

We want everyone plugged IN for growth, discipleship, care, and community!

Executive Pastor of Discipleship

Growing Groups

Adult Education

Young Marrieds & Growing Families

Sunday mornings at 11am

One of our favorite long-standing classes has fully returned! If you are a newly married couple or have been married for a while and have a growing family, this class is for you! Join us in the Lower Auditorium on Sunday mornings at 11am for a class that is aimed at helping you navigate this season of your life with biblical teaching and community.

Deeper Walk

Sunday mornings at 11am

The goal of this class is to equip you to pursue spiritual maturity and to claim the spiritual freedom afforded to you in your relationship with Christ. You will explore how Christ gives believers new identities and victory over sin, how to recognize and overcome spiritual deception, how to exercise the authority that God gives all believers, and other specific steps to claiming freedom in Christ. The class meets on Sundays in the Founders Dining Room at 11am with both an in-person and online option.

Old Testament Survey

Sunday mornings at 11am starting September 12

Join us for a walk through the entire Old Testament! We will explore each book’s content, purpose, theological significance, and its place in the Old Testament. There will be some reading/study required outside of class, but it will be incredibly enriching and give you a greater understanding of the OT as a whole.

The course will run from September 12 to December 6 and will be taught by T Wright and Teagan McKenzie during the 11am service.

Open Word

Sunday mornings at 9:30am starting September 12

We’re excited to announce our Open Word Class is back! This class is centered around an in-depth study of a book of the Bible and taught by a team of teachers. This class is set to resume September 12 during the 9:30 service.

Life Groups

Our Life Groups meet in homes all throughout the week all over the Lexington area. If you’d like to get connected into a Life Group, click the button below.

Please note that groups will be filled in the order that requests are submitted. Should your requested group reach capacity before you sign up, Heather Smith will contact you and we will do our best to find you an alternative group to join. Thank you for understanding!

College Ministry

Thursday nights

College ministry will meet on Thursday nights this fall. Activities will range from worship nights to gatherings in homes, Bible study to hang-outs. Dinner will always be served. All college students are welcome.

Young Professionals Ministry

Thursday nights at 7pm

Enriching community and impactful discipleship are two things that can seem fleeting when you enter into post-college adulthood; it’s not unusual to become overwhelmed when searching for these two vital aspects of the Christian life.

This fall, our Young Professionals group will be learning about gospel identity while we eat, grow, and serve the community together. Our group meets on Thursdays at 7pm.

Boomers & Beyond

This ministry is designed for our more seasoned saints (everyone born before 1964) but all are welcome! We get together twice each month when in person gatherings are possible.

The Lunch Bunch

An outing to a local restaurant for food and fellowship. You are invited to join a group of friends enjoying a casual lunch together on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 11:30am. Location varies. Contact Sharon Winkle for more information.

The Gathering

You are invited to a time of fun, fellowship, and prayer on the 4th Sunday of each month at 6pm in the Lower Auditorium. Bring a snack to share and be ready to be encouraged and inspired!

Women’s Ministries

If you are a woman who attends FAC, consider this your warm welcome to Women’s Ministries. Please contact me with any questions and sign up throughout the year on our app or website for any groups, studies, or opportunities that you think would bless you!

Book of Jude Bible Study

Starting the week of September 12

This fall, Women’s Ministries will be studying Jude with Jackie Hill Perry! Over the course of nine weeks we will dive into the themes of being called, loved, and kept, and learn how to point others to Jesus in grace and truth. We serve others well when we share the whole gospel with them, not just the parts deemed attractive by our culture.

Small groups will meet at various times throughout the week with the option of flex (in-person) or virtual. Participants purchase their own workbook at their favorite retailer.  Video teaching component links will be provided for each participant in resources.

MomGroup

Second Friday of each month from 9:30 to 11:30am

MomGroup meets once a month on the second Friday of the month in the dining room from 9:30-11:30am through the school year. Our goal is to encourage one another through fellowship and speakers while providing food and childcare.

Life to Life

Once a month from September to May

Life to Life’s purpose is helping women grow in the image of Christ, to encourage one another, helping one another as a true community of believers who love each other and are invested in each other. This can only happen in relationships.

If you are yearning for connection with other women in our church this might be for you!

Secret Sisters

Various opportunities throughout the year

Secret Sisters kicks off in the fall with various opportunities throughout the year to gather together as a large group while enjoying a meal or serving together.

This ministry provides both one-on-one gift-giving, encouragement, and prayer and large group fellowship and service. Join with women of all ages to grow closer to Jesus and each other.

Men’s Ministry

Men’s Fellowship Breakfast and Service Team

Second Saturday of each month starting at 9am

On the second Saturday of each month, FAC men meet for a breakfast followed by time for doing service projects around the church or in the community. Breakfast is from 9 to 10am and service projects are from 10am to 12pm. Join us for one or both!

Coming soon

We are excited to announce that we will be holding our first men’s ministry conference this November 5-6 here on our campus. We are thrilled to host the godly and gifted Mike Breaux, who will be leading the teaching sessions. We will eat together, study God’s Word together, and worship together. We want all men of all ages to join us!

More information coming soon!

Serving Groups

Worship Team

If you are an instrumentalist or vocalist and are interested in serving as a part of the worship team, we would love to connect with you. Most worship team members are scheduled one week a month, which involves some personal preparation, a Wednesday night practice, and Sunday morning services. Contact Zeke Friedeman if you are interested.

Tech Team

It takes a lot of people to run our in-person and livestream services each Sunday. We provide training for all roles, so don’t let a lack of experience stop you from signing up. We currently need volunteers who are interested in:

  • Operating cameras
  • Playing slides and videos
  • Running sound
  • Running lights
  • Taking pictures

Joining the Tech Team is a fun way to get plugged in behind the scenes and serve our church family. Contact Steve Miller if you’re interested in volunteering.

Guest Services Team

Guest Services is the first point of contact for new visitors to our church. We get to partner with what God is doing in people’s hearts and help define their experience at First Alliance. Whether it is serving a cup of coffee, giving a high five at the door, or directing a new family to the appropriate children’s areas, we have many volunteers loving our guests every Sunday.

So guess what? If you can smile or ask someone their name, you can join our team! We would love to expand our volunteers. High schoolers, college students, parents and kids, anyone is welcome to join the fun!

Current needs include:

  • Ushers
  • Greeters
  • Cleaning team members
  • Hosts
  • Coffee bar attendants

We give you all the tools and training you need for the job, and you choose which Sundays and times you serve. Contact Bethany Laue to sign up. We look forward to serving with you!
