We desire that every person who calls FAC their home church to be IN a group! While our Sunday morning UP corporate worship experience is a great piece of any disciple’s faith journey, it is essential be IN a smaller group where you can grow in your relationship with Christ, deepen your relationships with other believers, and encourage each other to be more like Jesus daily.
Our IN groups are numerous and varied in their aims, but primarily fall into two categories: Growing Groups and Serving Groups. It is our desire that you take part in one of each.
We want everyone plugged IN for growth, discipleship, care, and community!

Young Marrieds & Growing Families
Sunday mornings at 11am
If you are a newly married couple or have been married for a while and have a growing family, this class is for you! Join us in the Lower Auditorium on Sunday mornings at 11am for a class that is aimed at helping you navigate this season of your life with biblical teaching and community.
Sunday mornings at 11am
The goal of this class is to equip you to pursue spiritual maturity and to claim the spiritual freedom afforded to you in your relationship with Christ. You will explore how Christ gives believers new identities and victory over sin, how to recognize and overcome spiritual deception, how to exercise the authority that God gives all believers, and other specific steps to claiming freedom in Christ. The class meets on Sundays in the Founders Dining Room at 11am with both an in-person and online option.
Biblical Foundations: New Testament
Sunday mornings at 11am
This 13-week class will explore the entire New Testament through the teaching of two of the world’s leading biblical scholars, N. T. Wright and Michael Byrd. This video-based series will walk you through every book of the New Testament as well as provide you with a foundational understanding of the literary, historical, and cultural context in which the New Testament was written. You will read through the entire New Testament and will be watching a new video almost daily. We will gather Sunday mornings at 11am in Room 117.
Sunday mornings at 9:30am
This long-standing class is centered around an in-depth study of a book of the Bible and taught by a team of teachers.
Sunday mornings at 11am
Relational Wisdom is an eight-week video and discussion course led by Gary Fleck that helps believers “get upstream” of conflict. Relational wisdom may be defined as your ability to discern emotions, interests, and abilities in yourself and others; to interpret this information in the light of God’s Word; and to use these insights to manage your responses and relationships successfully.
Our Life Groups meet in homes all throughout the week all over the Lexington area. If you’d like to get connected into a Life Group, click the button below.
Please note that groups will be filled in the order that requests are submitted. Should your requested group reach capacity before you sign up, Heather Smith will contact you and we will do our best to find you an alternative group to join. Thank you for understanding!
College ministry will meet on Thursday nights this fall. Activities will range from worship nights to gatherings in homes, Bible study to hang-outs. Dinner will always be served. All college students are welcome.
Young Professionals Ministry
Thursday nights at 7pm
Enriching community and impactful discipleship are two things that can seem fleeting when you enter into post-college adulthood; it’s not unusual to become overwhelmed when searching for these two vital aspects of the Christian life.
This fall, our Young Professionals group will be learning about gospel identity while we eat, grow, and serve the community together. Our group meets on Thursdays at 7pm.
Boomers & Beyond
This ministry is designed for our more seasoned saints (everyone born before 1964) but all are welcome! We get together twice each month when in person gatherings are possible.
The Lunch Bunch
An outing to a local restaurant for food and fellowship. You are invited to join a group of friends enjoying a casual lunch together on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 11:30am. Location varies. Contact Sharon Winkle for more information.
You are invited to a time of fun, fellowship, and prayer on the 4th Sunday of each month at 6pm in the Lower Auditorium. Bring a snack to share and be ready to be encouraged and inspired!
If you are a woman who attends FAC, consider this your warm welcome to Women’s Ministries. Please contact me with any questions and sign up throughout the year on our app or website for any groups, studies, or opportunities that you think would bless you!
Weeks of January 23 to March 20
Over the course of nine weeks we will be putting all the pieces together as we discover the seamless thread connecting the Bible. Whether you have grown up hearing Bible stories or you’re exploring Scripture for the first time, the full story of the Bible can be overwhelming. The 66 books may seem disconnected at first glance. In this study, Angie Smith Groups shows you how the whole Bible—from Genesis to Revelation—connects as one beautiful, seamless thread.
Small groups will meet at various times throughout the week, with in-person and virtual options available. Participants purchase their own workbook at their favorite retailer. Links to the video teaching components will be provided for each participant on the Church Center app and website.
Back by popular demand, we are hosting a virtual-only IF Gathering on March 4-5. Each attendee will register directly with the IF organization and view the conference from the comfort of their own homes.
A group will be available in Church Center to give you access to resources and limited communication from us. We ask that each person register with the IF organization as they have provided a discount on both their Basic and Full Access Passes.
Save the Date: March 18-20
We are thrilled to announce that we’ll be taking our in-person retreat on the road this year to Laurel Lake Camp! Be on the lookout for more information in February.
Second Friday of each month from 9:30 to 11:30am
MomGroup meets once a month on the second Friday of the month in the dining room from 9:30-11:30am through the school year. Our goal is to encourage one another through fellowship and speakers while providing food and childcare.
Various opportunities throughout the year
You can still be a part of Secret Sisters! Although signing up now does not connect you with a specific secret sister, we’d still love to have you join us for our quarterly times of fellowship.
This ministry provides both one-on-one gift-giving, encouragement, and prayer and large group fellowship and service. Join with women of all ages to grow closer to Jesus and each other.
Men’s Fellowship Breakfast and Service Team
Second Saturday of each month starting at 9am
On the second Saturday of each month, FAC men meet for a breakfast followed by time for doing service projects around the church or in the community. Breakfast is from 9 to 10am and service projects are from 10am to 12pm. Join us for one or both!
Men’s Ministry Conference
We are excited to announce that we will be holding another conference this spring. The one in the fall was a great success and we are again bringing in Mike Breaux to continue our discussion around living in the rhythm of grace. We will feed you well, worship together, hear great teaching, and enjoy each other’s company. We want men of all ages to join us!
If you are an instrumentalist or vocalist and are interested in serving as a part of the worship team, we would love to connect with you. Most worship team members are scheduled one week a month, which involves some personal preparation, a Wednesday night practice, and Sunday morning services. Contact Zeke Friedeman if you are interested.
It takes a lot of people to run our in-person and livestream services each Sunday. We provide training for all roles, so don’t let a lack of experience stop you from signing up. We currently need volunteers who are interested in:
- Operating cameras
- Playing slides and videos
- Running sound
- Running lights
- Taking pictures
Joining the Tech Team is a fun way to get plugged in behind the scenes and serve our church family. Contact Steve Miller if you’re interested in volunteering.
Guest Services Team
Guest Services is the first point of contact for new visitors to our church. We get to partner with what God is doing in people’s hearts and help define their experience at First Alliance. Whether it is serving a cup of coffee, giving a high five at the door, or directing a new family to the appropriate children’s areas, we have many volunteers loving our guests every Sunday.
So guess what? If you can smile or ask someone their name, you can join our team! We would love to expand our volunteers. High schoolers, college students, parents and kids, anyone is welcome to join the fun!
Current needs include:
- Cleaning team members
- Coffee bar attendants
We give you all the tools and training you need for the job, and you choose which Sundays and times you serve. Contact Bethany Laue to sign up. We look forward to serving with you!
