Given the continued presence of COVID-19, adult education classes will largely take place over Zoom for this upcoming quarter, though it is our desire that classes meet in-person as soon as possible.
In the fall, we were able to offer a hybrid of sorts as we met both in-person and via Zoom. Our hope is that this same format can be used this quarter if we can provide a safe space in which to do it. Contact me if you have any questions or have a class you’d like us to offer in the future.
Breaking Through to Spiritual Maturity
Sundays at 11:30am
January 10–March 28
The goal of this 13-week class is to equip you to pursue spiritual maturity and to claim the spiritual freedom afforded you in your relationship with Christ. You will explore how Christ gives believers new identities and victory over sin, how to recognize and overcome spiritual deception, how to exercise the authority that God gives all believers, and other specific steps to claiming freedom in Christ.
Biblical Doctrine: The Atonement
Sundays at 8:30am
February 28–April 4
The doctrine of the atonement is central to the Christian faith and when studied in-depth can deepen your devotion to Christ and desire to participate in the mission of God. This study will explore the sacrificial system discussed throughout the Old Testament as well as how it functioned during the time of Jesus, and how that ultimately helps us to best understand the meaning of the death of Jesus.

Young Professionals Ministry
Enriching community and impactful discipleship are two things that can seem fleeting when you enter into post-college adulthood; it’s not unusual to become overwhelmed when searching for these two vital aspects of Christian life. Young Professionals aims to offer both.
Steps to Freedom
Steps to Freedom centers on Neil Anderson’s The Steps to Freedom in Christ, a workbook aimed at helping you resolve personal and spiritual conflicts that may be preventing you from experiencing true freedom in Christ.
Boomers & Beyond
This ministry is designed for our more seasoned saints, but all are welcome!
All ladies of FAC, including their family and friends, are invited to join us for IF:Gathering on March 5-6. Check out this information for more details of what we believe to be an amazing way for us to still meet as a group of women during these uncertain times.
Elijah Bible Study
Join us for this seven-week study on the life of the prophet Elijah as teacher Melissa Spoelstra leads us in examining the life of this ordinary man who did extraordinary things for God in the midst of the highs and lows of life. We’ll learn some of the spiritual stamina secrets that helped Elijah hold on and persevere in faith, including habits related to prayer, choices, soul care, surrender, mentoring, and leaving a lasting legacy.
Groups begin the week of January 10 and conclude the week of February 21. They will be meeting either completely virtually (using Zoom) or as flex groups (possibly meeting in person while following safety guidelines).
Our Men’s Ministry is kicking off a new study on Tuesday, February 9 at 8:00pm in the Sanctuary.
It will be an apologetics-based study using the RightNow Media study Tactics by Gregory Koukl. We’ll watch a video for 30 minutes before breaking up into smaller groups to discuss.
If you are an instrumentalist or vocalist and are interested in serving as a part of the worship team, we would love to connect with you. Most worship team members are scheduled one week a month, which involves some personal preparation, a Wednesday night practice, and Sunday morning services. Contact Zeke Friedeman if you are interested.
It takes a lot of people to run our in-person and livestream services each Sunday. We provide training for all roles, so don’t let a lack of experience stop you from signing up. We currently need volunteers who are interested in:
- Operating cameras
- Playing slides and videos
- Running sound
- Running lights
Joining the Tech Team is a fun way to get plugged in behind the scenes and serve our church family. Contact Steve Miller if you’re interested in volunteering.
Guest Services Team
We invite you to be part of our amazing Guest Services team! We have a great time together welcoming and serving our church family and visitors on Sunday mornings. Contact Lilly Lintemuth and Hannah Takacs to get plugged in and find your fit on our team.
