Growing Groups

Opportunities for young adults and beyond

Worship + 2

We want everyone who calls First Alliance their home church to:

We desire that every person who calls FAC their home church to be IN a group! While our Sunday morning UP corporate worship experience is a great piece of any disciple’s faith journey, it is essential be IN a smaller group where you can grow in your relationship with Christ, deepen your relationships with other believers, and encourage each other to be more like Jesus daily.

Our IN groups are numerous and varied in their aims, but primarily fall into two categories: Growing Groups and Serving Groups. It is our desire that you take part in one of each.

We want everyone plugged IN for growth, discipleship, care, and community!

Life Groups

Our Life Groups meet in homes all throughout the week all over the Lexington area. If you’d like to get connected into a Life Group, click the button below. We have over 20 groups meeting this quarter!

Please note that groups will be filled in the order that requests are submitted. Should your requested group reach capacity before you sign up, Dan McPherson will contact you and we will do our best to find you an alternative group to join. Thank you for understanding.

Mining the Riches of the Old Testament

Sundays at 11:00am starting Jan 14

Taught by Ron Gifford and John Roberts, this class has a four-fold purpose.

  • To share our love for the OT and to enjoy the book together.
  • To discover God as he revealed himself to his people progressively over 1,000 years.
  • To learn to mine the riches of the book.
  • To learn life lessons that reach us even now.

This class will meet from January 14 – April 28 in Room 203-204 in the Family Life Center (Gym).

The Word and the World

Sundays at 11:00am starting Feb 4

A cursory look at culture reveals countless issues that can seem like proverbial minefield. Yet God has something to say about all of it!

Join Doug Matthews, Dan McPherson, and occasional guest speakers as we tackle these issues from a multi-generational perspective, asking the question of how the Word can inform how we live in this world that God so loves!

This class will meet from February 4 – May 26 in the Youth Room.

College Ministry

We love having you at FAC! To go deeper, join us weekly for Sunday Morning small group at 9:30am in the Living Room. Fusion groups will be back on for the fall with a little bit of a twist. More of that to come!

We will continue to have monthly worship nights, and during the summer we will continue “Don’t do summer alone 2024.” This was a hit for us last year, and we plan to build a great community this summer.

For more information, reach out to Kendall McKee. I will get you on our communication list so you know what is happening and when. My wife Katy and I want to help you find your place with FAC College this year!

Young Professionals Ministry

Thursdays at 7pm

Enriching community and impactful discipleship are two things that can seem fleeting when you enter into post-college adulthood; it’s not unusual to become overwhelmed when searching for these two vital aspects of the Christian life. Our Young Professionals group is a community of post-school individuals, both single and married, that are pursuing and learning together what it means to follow Jesus. We eat, laugh, study Scripture, praise God, serve our First Alliance family, and reach out to our neighbors together.

We meet in various homegroups on Thursdays at 7:00pm. This winter we are going through John Mark Comer’s Practicing the Way study. We also have monthly large group gatherings on the last Thursday of the month. Sign up using the button below if you would like to join one of our groups!

Questions? Contact Drew Rinehart.

Life to Life’s purpose is helping women grow deeper in our walks with God and each other. We encourage and invest in each other through genuine care and conversation!

There is no preparation or homework with these groups. Some meet in homes; others meet in coffee shops. It is up to the facilitator of the group. We try to offer a variety of days and times that might suit your schedule.

So if you are yearning for connection through conversation with other women in our church this might be for you! Groups meet once or twice a month from September 2023 to April 2024.

Second Saturday of the month, 9:00am-12:00pm

Join us in the Founder’s Dining Room for a hearty breakfast, enjoy a chat with other men, then put on your gloves as we head out to help people in our church community with various projects and work!

Intergenerational Ministry

A core value and strength of FAC is its intergenerational make-up and character. We believe that this is a gift of God to be stewarded faithfully. Our Intergenerational Leadership Team continues to prayerfully envision what this will look like going forward, and to ensure we faithfully steward the work God is calling us to today – not just multi but intergenerationally.
