Sermon Reflection Questions
- Sirens sing to us, tempting us to pursue comfort, consumption, and self-interest over God’s Kingdom. Which “siren songs” of the world most often compete for your heart, attention, and affection?
- Joy and purpose are often signs that our hearts are in alignment with God’s kingdom while restless consumption frequently leaves us feeling empty and misaligned. In what ways have you experienced a deep sense of joy, purpose, and God’s peace recently?
- You are being discipled by someone whether you realize it or not. The way in which you steward your time, money, and attention is a good indication. Where might God be prompting you to repent or redirect your attention toward His kingdom this week?

Psalm 90
Lord, teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom. Remind us that our time is a gift and that our lives are brief. Help us turn from the voices of this world and hear Your voice calling us back to You. May we spend the days You have given us pursuing what lasts. Amen.
Matthew 25:14-30
Lord Jesus, thank you for entrusting us with gifts, opportunities, time, and resources. Teach us to see everything we have as a trust from you. Make us faithful, stewarding well what you have placed in our hands. And when you return, may we hear those words we long for: “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Amen.
Philippians 4:10-13
Prayer: Father, teach us the secret of being content in every circumstance. Help us to receive both abundance and difficulty with open hands, trusting that our strength does not come from our circumstances but from you. Remind us that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us, not because we are capable of everything, but because you are sufficient for everything you call us to. Make us people who are deeply content because we have you. Amen.
Hebrews 13:5-19
God, thank you that you will never leave us or forsake us. Free our hearts from the constant desire for more, and teach us to be content with what you have provided. Give us grace to follow the example of those who have faithfully gone before us, keeping our eyes fixed on you, the same yesterday, today, and forever. Make us generous, hospitable, compassionate, and willing to share what we have with others. Amen.
Acts 20:32-35
Lord Jesus, free us from the desire to hold tightly to what we have. Give us generous hearts that are willing to work, willing to share, and willing to give when we see a need. Help us remember your words: “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Make our lives less about accumulating for ourselves and more about becoming a blessing to others. Amen.
Deuteronomy 6:1-9
Almighty God, teach us to love you with all our heart, soul, and strength. Let your Word take deep root in us, not merely as something we hear, but as something that shapes the way we live. May our homes, our conversations, and our daily rhythms continually point others toward you. May we remember that everything we have comes from your hand, and may our whole lives be marked by wholehearted love for you. Amen.
