Update on the Pastoral
Search Process

Dear First Alliance Family,

On behalf of the Leadership Board, I want to share an update on our process of seeking the next Lead Pastor God has for our church.

From the beginning, our desire has been to pursue this search prayerfully, carefully, and with wisdom beyond our own. To that end, the Leadership Board has engaged Ministry Transitions, an organization with deep experience walking alongside churches in seasons like ours. Over the past months, they have gathered feedback from key stakeholders across our church family and, from that input, developed a framework that identifies the qualifications, character, and gifting we are seeking in our next lead pastor. This framework reflects not just the perspective of a few, but the heart of our congregation, and it will guide every step of the search ahead.

We are also grateful to announce the members of our Pastor Search Committee, who have accepted the responsibility of vetting candidates and bringing recommendations to the Leadership Board for consideration:

  • Dan Danford, Chair
  • David Thomas
  • Daniel Rehner
  • Tommy Haggin
  • Claire Hanssen
  • Tricia Calvert
  • Maria Brown

These individuals represent a breadth of experience and a shared love for this church, and we are thankful for their willingness to serve in this important work. Please be in prayer for them.

We know seasons of transition can stir both anticipation and uncertainty. We want you to know the Board is committed to keeping you informed as the process unfolds, and above all, to seeking the Lord’s direction at every turn. We are not simply filling a position; we are asking God to bring us the shepherd He has already prepared for First Alliance.

Thank you for your continued prayers, patience, and faithfulness. It is a privilege to walk through this season together.

In Christ,

Jason Groth
Chairman, Leadership Board

Sermon Preview

Reduced to Hope

Join us as John Doyle, our Pastor of Intergenerational and Senior Adult Ministries, brings us a message from Lamentations 3:19-24. We will also celebrate Baptism Sunday!

Service Time Change

Beginning next Sunday, August 2, our first service will move from 8:15 to 8:00am!

This adjustment creates a longer transition between services, improving parking and building flow while allowing our first service to experience the full worship gathering without needing to shorten elements. Most importantly, it gives those attending more time to linger, respond, and connect after worship without feeling rushed. We’re excited about the opportunities this will create for our church family.

Family Worship Sunday

Next Sunday, August 2 is Family Worship Sunday!

On Family Worship Sundays, we invite our Kindergarten through 12th grade students to join the greater First Alliance family for corporate worship and teaching together side-by-side. The Kindergarten through 12th grade classes will not be meeting this morning, but the Nursery and Preschool will still be open. Praise packs, full of resources designed to help our younger friends focus and participate with the sermon, will be available at the back of the Sanctuary. Tim Davis, our Pastor to Children and Families, will be preaching, and he will lead us through a time of prayer and consecration over the upcoming school year. We can’t wait to worship together with our intergenerational church family!

A team of men from First Alliance Church is preparing for a mission trip to Colombia. During this special evening, we will share:

  • Why we believe God is calling us to Colombia
  • Information about the ministries and people we will be serving
  • What we hope to accomplish during the trip
  • Ways our church family can pray for, encourage, and support the team

The evening will include a free homemade spaghetti dinner. Everyone is welcome and there is no charge to attend, but advance registration is required so we can prepare enough food.

We hope you will join us for dinner, fellowship, and an opportunity to learn more about this mission and how you can be part of it.
