24 Hour Prayer for the city of Lexington
First Alliance Church, along with 27 other churches in Lexington, have joined together to provide unceasing, 24/7 prayer for the city of Lexington and beyond. FAC has committed to pray on the second Monday of each month for 24 hours.
Prayer Guide
Scriptures are provided to read and pray through along with specific prayer prompts. You are welcome to pray as the Spirit leads you. The guide simply provides a framework to pray for specific ministries that FAC partners with in our city. Trust the Holy Spirit to give you prayers and scriptures to pray as you intercede.
Together we are believing for God’s miraculous intervention in every aspect of the lives and institutions in our city and beyond!
1 Timothy 2:1-6, NIV “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people- for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.”
Pause
Invite the Holy Spirit to quiet your heart and your mind. Take 4 deep, cleansing breaths. As you breathe consider internally praying the following phrases
Inhale: In Christ alone
Exhale: My soul finds rest
Psalm 62:5 NLT “Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in Him.”
Praise
What specific blessings and gifts are you praising Him for today?
Psalm 105:1-2 “Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples! Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wondrous works!”
Confession
Is there anything you need to confess to the Lord or any burden you need to lay down? Spend time allowing the Lord to search your heart and cleanse you.
Psalm 139:23-24, NIV “Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”
