24 Hour Prayer Movement
First Alliance Church, along with 27 other churches in Lexington, have joined together to provide unceasing, 24/7 prayer for the city of Lexington and beyond. FAC has committed to pray on the second Monday of each month for 24 hours. Let us continue to ask God to add more churches as we faithfully follow His guidance!
Prayer Guide
Scriptures are provided to read and pray through along with specific prayer prompts. Ask the Holy Spirit to give you prayers to pray as you intercede. Together we are interceding for God’s miraculous intervention in every aspect of the lives and institutions in our city and beyond.
1 Timothy 2:1-6, NIV “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people- for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.”
Pause
Invite the Holy Spirit to quiet your heart and your mind. Take 4 deep, cleansing breaths. As you breathe consider internally praying the following phrases
Inhale: My soul finds rest
Exhale: In God alone
Psalm 62:1, CEB “Only in God do I find rest; my salvation comes from him.”
Praise
Spend time thanking God for who He is! What specific blessings and gifts are you praising Him for today?
Psalm 105:1-2 “Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples! Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wondrous works!”
1 Peter 1:3-4, NIV “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade.”
Confession
Is there anything you need to confess to the Lord or any burden you need to lay down? Spend time allowing the Lord to search your heart and cleanse you.
Psalm 139:23-24, NIV “Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”
