Dear FAC Family,
This summer we shared that as of September 3, Dan McPherson would return as our Pastor of High School Ministry. This has been a great re-entry, and we are so excited for the momentum and joy in our High School Ministry this fall!
That said, Dan’s move back to Pastor of High School Ministry from Pastor of Group Life left open focused staff leadership for Adult Education, Life Groups, and Men’s Ministry. I mentioned in my summer communication that we would keep you posted on the plan to serve those groups and wanted to give you an update.
We have decided not to hire a full time person for Pastor of Group Life. Instead we are breaking up the responsibilities of that full time role into separate pieces. This will be fiscally responsible as well as give specialized attention to these ministry areas. We have seen this type of specialization be particularly effective in other part time staff roles such as Guest Services and Intergenerational Ministry.
We are thankful that our Executive Pastor of Ministry Development Doug Matthews is currently running point for us on Adult Education Classes and Men’s Ministry. We see the need for continued growth in these areas and are working on some additional exciting and intentional plans we hope to share this winter.
In regards to Life Group leadership, we are excited to announce that we have hired Dale Robinson as our new Pastor of Life Group Ministry.
- Dale will be working on a part-time basis, approximately 10 hours a week. Currently our Life Group Ministry has 21 groups and 246 members. Dale will provide shepherding and training to our leaders as well as work to expand the overall Life Group Ministry by supporting current groups and adding new leaders and groups.
- Since it is essential in a church of our size that people find community, as that is where care and intentional growth happen, this ministry needs focused muscle, investment, and development.
- Dale comes to us with years of church ministry experience in leadership development, operations, and local missions, having served as a lead pastor and an executive pastor in local churches in Indiana, Illinois, and Missouri. He and his wife Dana have been an active part of Vertical and our Sunday morning Consecration Team.
We welcome Dale to our staff team beginning today! As we have more to share, we will keep you in the loop. Thank you for the way you are leaning in this fall as we continue to see God do great things among us.
Grace and peace,
