Sunday Services

Join us for one of our services this Sunday at 8:30, 10:00, or 11:30am as we continue our Standing Firm in Fragile Times sermon series. This week’s sermon title is Unafraid of an Unknown Future, and the main Scripture passage will be Jeremiah 29:11-13.

Click here to register for one of our in-person services. If you haven’t seen it, make sure you check out our Welcome Home video to see what to expect when you return.

Nursery, preschool, and grades 1-4 meet during the 10:00am service. Middle and high school ministries meet at 10:00 and 11:30am. Go here to register for these services! If you are registering students, we recommend that you register them for their group first and then register for the main service.

We will be joining together for worship with those at home by livestreaming all three of our services on faclex.tv. You can visit our website and click on the faclex.tv button, or you can type faclex.tv into your browser and go.

If you aren’t able to watch a service live, visit the Weekly Services section of our website to watch anytime after 1pm on Sunday.

Due to the Governor’s executive order, we ask that everyone wear masks to all three of our Sunday services. Thank you!

Bob Jacob’s Memorial Service – Saturday at 11:00am

Long-time FAC member Bob Jacob went to be with the Lord this past Monday morning. His memorial service will be held in the Sanctuary on Saturday morning at 11:00am and will be livestreamed at faclex.tv. Because our Sanctuary’s seating capacity is greatly limited due to COVID restrictions, Overflow seating will be available in the Lower Auditorium and the FACKids Arena.

Boomers and Beyond Relaunch

Boomers and Beyond is relaunching with an outdoor fellowship in front of the church. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and join us Sunday, September 27, at 6:00pm on the front lawn. Everyone 55 and older is welcome to attend!

Prayer Wall Open House

Last week during our service we invited our congregation to write down prayer needs on cards. We have created a prayer wall in our Sanctuary with those cards. We’d like to invite you to come and pray over these requests anytime on Wednesday, September 30 from 12:00-6:00pm. We ask that you wear a mask and maintain social distancing.

Thank You, Maria! We Will Miss You!

Maria Darby, our Director of Guest Services, is leaving our staff. While we will miss her greatly, we are so excited for this amazing opportunity for her and her family. Maria, job well done! We are so thankful that we will still see you here on Sundays. From Maria:

FAC family,

I am so grateful for how you all have received my family and given me an opportunity to serve alongside you all in loving our guests and family members every Sunday morning. I will be returning to the nursing profession with deep gratitude for my time serving our church family. I look forward to staying in the community and seeing how God moves in our city! Thank you for loving and supporting our family.

Vertical – Monthly Prayer Night

Prayer Night is coming up Monday, October 5. It will be held in-person in the Sanctuary from 6:45–7:45pm. There is no need to register if you plan to come.
We will be using the same safety standards as we do on Sunday morning for our services:

  • The Atrium will be closed for visiting and any conversations will need to happen in the parking lot.
  • The seating will be set like Sunday morning (socially distanced) and we ask that you sit with members of your household only.
  • Masks are mandatory. There will be hygiene stations with hand sanitizer and masks for you if you need one.

We will not be livestreaming this event, as attendees praying from their seats would not be audible for those at home. If you are unable to join us in person, please take some time to pray from home!

Ohio Valley District Women’s Focus Gathering

Ladies, you will not want to miss this special opportunity on October 24 from 9:30-10:30am. We will be gathering virtually to encourage one another and hear a timely message from our own Susan Scott on Freedom from Fear. Go here to register or to learn more about the event.

New Men’s Small Groups: Reframing the Faith

It’s not too late! Join us for our new men’s small group offering called “Reframing the Faith.” This offering has as its goal to get men to think through some of their deeply held beliefs regarding their identity, the Gospel, God’s character, whether or not they are truly experiencing freedom in Christ, etc. We explore these topics in a 10-15 minute large group setting and then break into smaller groups of 5-6 to answer questions aimed at getting you to share where you are at on these issues. If you already have a group of 5-6 (or smaller) that you meet with, you can walk through this 6-part event together as we will ensure that you are in the same breakout group. This is a Zoom-based study on Mondays at 8:00pm, with each weekly session lasting an hour. We would love for you to join us. Contact T Wright if you are interested.

Women’s Ministry Hygiene Drive for Natalie’s Sisters

We are collecting hygiene items for Natalie’s Sisters. The only items that are needed are:

  • Travel size deodorant
  • 15 count wipes
  • Washcloths
  • Travel size lotion
  • Travel size conditioner

Items can be dropped off in the container at the gym-side entrance Monday through Saturday or in the container in the Atrium on Sunday.

Light Through Leggings

Ladies, let’s join together in providing gently used leggings for our sisters at Natalie’s Sisters. Please drop them off on Sunday mornings in the Atrium or at the gym-side entrance Monday through Saturday.

Serve with Next Gen Ministries

We are so excited to have reopened our Next Gen spaces! We continue to be in need of a preschool teacher and middle school small group leaders. Please take some time to prayerfully consider serving with our kids and students. Let us know if you are interested in serving with us or would like more information. You can also connect with one of our Next Gen pastors after services on a Sunday morning.

Cleaning Team Needs

We are in need of more people to serve on our cleaning teams! If you would be willing to join the team on Sunday mornings during and after services go to our website and let us know. We will be in touch with you to find the Sundays and service time that works best for you.

Voter Registration Reminder

If you have moved recently or are not registered to vote, the deadline to register is October 5. You can register in person at your county clerk’s office, by mail, or online.

Next Gen

We have praise packs available on Sunday mornings for kids who are attending in-person main services to help them stay engaged. Be sure to grab them on your way into the sanctuary.

We also have a playlist of our Sunday worship songs available on Spotify so you can teach your kids the songs in advance.

Keep up with FAC Kids, Middle School Ministry, and FAC Youth on our website and on Sunday afternoons on faclex.tv. We want to support you in helping your kids stay connected during this season.
