This Week’s Connector

Hello FAC Family!

As we look ahead to our final pre-recorded service this weekend and then our Welcome Home Sunday, we want you to stay informed of all the ways you can stay connected!

Please note that when we resume our in-person services next week, this newsletter that you receive every Friday will be our new Connector. We will not have paper bulletins for the time being.

Beginning next week, the format will look like a blend between our old paper Connector and this newsletter. You will be able to access it each Friday in your inbox, on our website, and in the Church Center app. It will stay posted until the next week’s is released.

We are looking forward to starting this new communication tool, and we pray it is effective in keeping you connected!

Here are this week’s newsletter contents:

  • Annual Meeting this Sunday
  • Welcome Home on Sunday, June 14
  • This Sunday’s Service and Virtual Atrium
  • Register Now for Women’s Bible Study

Annual Meeting this Sunday

Our Annual Business Meeting Celebration is this Sunday, June 7 at 6pm. It will be held virtually on the annual meeting page of our website! The annual report, treasurer’s report, slate of officers are located here. We look forward to you reading all about what God has done in and through our FAC family in the last year. Members will be instructed how to vote at the end of the meeting.

Welcome Home on Sunday, June 14

We are looking forward to going back to in-person services next Sunday, June 14! If you missed Pastor Paul’s two videos where he laid out our reopening plan and our registration process, please take time to watch them both here. Services will be Sundays at 9am, 11am, 3pm, and 5pm.

Click here to register for your service of choice.

We will livestream all of our services for everyone continuing to worship from home. Starting next Sunday, just click on the faclex.tv button on our website to watch live.

We still need help with cleaning, guest services, parking, livestream, technology, and more when we reopen. Please let us know if you can help!

This Sunday’s Service and Virtual Atrium

Our weekly online worship service will be posted to Facebook and our website on Sunday morning at 10:45am. We hope you will join us! Immediately following our morning service our Virtual Atrium time of prayer, praise, and connection will happen on our Facebook page.

We will be taking communion during our service this Sunday, so you will want to have elements ready in your home. If you need elements, there are some available on the front porch of the church. Stop by the church whenever it is convenient for you.

Register Now for Women’s Bible Study

Registration is now open for our FAC Women’s Summer Bible study! Our study this season is Ruth with Bianca Juárez Olthoff. All small groups kick off the week of June 14th and end the week of July 26th and will meet virtually at various times throughout the week. Sign up on our website! Everything for the study is available through RightNow Media.

Hey Parents of FACKids, Middle Schoolers, and FAC Youth

Every week we release fabulous content for kids of all ages, and we want accessing it to be super easy. It is all located in one spot! We want to support you in helping your kids stay connected to God and their FAC family in this season. We also want you to know that as we re-gather as a church, we will be working on ways to make sure our kids feel a part of the service! Pastor Tim and Hannah have some great ideas for the younger kids, and we will be pre-releasing the names of our worship songs each week to help you teach your kids at home. We also pray that the new sermon series will capture the minds and hearts of adults and kids alike!

Evangelism 101

Pastor Zach will be leading this virtual class via Zoom for 7 weeks starting next Sunday, June 14. Click here to get signed up! As a staff we have heard so many of you say that this season has opened up conversations with your neighbors like never before, but it is hard to make that jump from introductory conversation to intentional gospel conversation. We hope that this class will equip you to do that!

Baby Bottle Blessings for Assurance

Baby Bottle Blessings is a wonderful opportunity for First Alliance to come alongside Assurance, a local ministry that serves those facing unplanned pregnancy or struggling from a past abortion. The realities around these issues are staggering and heart breaking and Assurance offers these services free, with no judgement, no pressure, just help. This specific opportunity to participate in their regular fundraising initiative has been impacted by COVID-19 but they have made the needed adjustments to continue their mission. In fact, Assurance has saved an estimated 39 lives in the first 3 months of 2020!

We have had the joy to be a part of this campaign in past years and understand that Baby Bottle Blessings is critical to their ability to continue their mission. Though they made changes to protect the health and safety of all of those involved, there are 3 alternate ways to “fill a bottle”: mail a donation, give online, or text to give. We invite you to participate in this important initiative! Here are the ways you can “fill your bottle”!

  • Mail your donation to Assurance, 1517 Nicholasville Rd., Suite 405, Lexington, KY, 40503 (if you would, please include First Alliance Church).
  • Give online and fill out the simple, additional form to indicate that you are a part of the FAC family.
  • Text “give” to (844) 689-3103. Respond to the follow up text and follow their lead.
