Reopening the Building

Thank you again for filling out the survey we sent out last week regarding our reopening! We were so thankful that 366 surveys (representing over 1100 people!) came in. This information is very helpful!

We continue to be hard at work planning for how to structure our services in keeping with the government guidelines and still providing a meaningful time of worship for our FAC family. Pastor Paul and Pastor T sent out a video earlier this week with a few updates in this direction that you can watch here. We will keep you posted as soon as we have a firm date and a firm plan. We covet your prayers as we navigate this very complicated situation and for our church to stay unified amidst so many thoughts, opinions and requirements.

This Sunday’s Service and Virtual Atrium

Our weekly online worship service will be posted to Facebook and our website on Sunday morning at 10:45am. We hope you will join us!

This Sunday is also Great Commission Sunday across our C&MA family! Our service will contain a special Joy Even When story from Tim Meier from the national office. You won’t want to miss it! We invite you to contribute today and all year round to the GCF by clicking here. You can also visit the C&MA website to see the amazing things God is doing around the world through our family of churches!

Immediately following our morning service Pastor Zach will lead our Virtual Atrium time of prayer, praise and connection taking extra time to pray for Great Commission Sunday. (If you do not have a Facebook account, here are instructions on how to create one. And as always, if you don’t want to have a Facebook account but would like to see these events, they are posted to our website for replay within a half hour of their conclusion.)

Calling All Videographers, Sound Techs, Computer Savvy People

When we start meeting again in-person sometime in the month of June, we will be live- streaming our services for those who need to worship from home. This is so exciting! That said, we need to build a brand new ministry team to do this. So calling all videographers, sound techs, and computer savvy people…. We need you! We are going to build a totally brand new camera team, expand the current sound team, add light techs, and more PowerPoint team members. So, if you fall in ANY of those categories, or if you are willing to learn, email us. We will be in touch and let you know when we will run our training and kicking off these teams.

Evangelism 101 Class

Pastor Zach will be leading this virtual class via zoom for 7 weeks starting on June 14. Go here to get signed up. As a staff we have heard so many of you say that this season has opened up conversations with your neighbors like never before… But it is hard to make that jump from introductory conversation to intentional gospel conversation. We hope that this class will equip you to do that!

Baby Bottle Blessings for Assurance

Baby Bottle Blessings is a wonderful opportunity for First Alliance to come alongside Assurance, a local ministry that serves those facing unplanned pregnancy or struggling from a past abortion. The realities around these issues are staggering and heart breaking and Assurance offers these services free, with no judgement, no pressure, just help. This specific opportunity to participate in their regular fundraising initiative has been impacted by COVID-19 but they have made the needed adjustments to continue their mission. In fact, Assurance has saved an estimated 39 lives in the first 3 months of 2020!

We have had the joy to be a part of this campaign in past years and understand that Baby Bottle Blessings is critical to their ability to continue their mission. Though they made changes to protect the health and safety of all of those involved, there are 3 alternate ways to “fill a bottle”: mail a donation, give online, or text to give. We invite you to participate in this important initiative! Here are the ways you can “fill your bottle”!

  • Mail your donation to Assurance, 1517 Nicholasville Rd., Suite 405, Lexington, KY, 40503 (if you would, please include First Alliance Church).
  • Give online and fill out the simple, additional form to indicate that you are a part of the FAC family.
  • Text “give” to (844) 689-3103. Respond to the follow up text and follow their lead.

Hey Moms and Dads of FACKids, Middle School, and FAC Youth

FAC is releasing for kids of all ages and we want accessing it to be SUPER easy. It is all located in one spot! We want to support you in helping your kids stay connected to their FAC family and God in this season.

Annual Business Meeting Celebration

Our Annual Business Meeting Celebration will happen this year on Sunday, June 7, at 6pm. It will be held virtually due to the continued large group gathering restrictions. (Our membership exceeds the number of people permitted in our sanctuary at this time.) The meeting will be pre-recorded and look much like our current Sunday online services.

To make tracking items and communication as straightforward as possible, a temporary new page has been added to our website for the Annual Meeting. Check it out here! Everything you will need to be prepared for and participate in our annual meeting will be placed on this page. We will guide you each step of the way to be sure that all business is conducted well.

The annual report, budget, slate of officers and more will be added to the webpage on May 24. We look forward to you reading all about what GOD has done in and through our FAC family in the last year!
