Reopening the Building: Welcome Home!

We are looking forward to going back to in-person services on Sunday, June 14! If you missed Pastor Paul’s video where he laid out our reopening plan, please watch it here. Services will be held in the Sanctuary and Lower Auditorium simultaneously Sundays at 9am, 11am, 3pm, and 5pm. Everyone must register due to our limited capacity so that we are certain we can accomodate everyone. A video explaining that process will be coming out next week.

We still need help with cleaning, guest services, parking and more when we reopen. Click here to get signed up to help!

We will continue our livestream for those who wish to continue worship from home. (See Livestream Team info below if you are willing to help with this team one Sunday a month!)

This Sunday’s Service and Virtual Atrium

Our weekly online worship service will be posted to Facebook and our website on Sunday morning at 10:45am. We hope you will join us! Immediately following our morning service our Virtual Atrium time of prayer, praise, and connection will happen on our FAC Facebook page. Susan Scott will be leading this week.

Prayer Night

Join us live on Facebook for our monthly prayer night this coming Monday, June 1, at 6:45pm. You can also watch on our website. This is a sweet time of coming before the Lord together. We use some prayer prompts and also take requests from you as you participate in the comments. Pastor Zach will be leading this month!

Annual Business Meeting Celebration

Our Annual Business Meeting Celebration is Sunday, June 7, at 6pm. It will be held virtually (the meeting will be pre-recorded and look much like our current Sunday online services). There is a new Annual Meeting page on our website with all the info: the annual report, treasurer’s report, slate of officers, and proposed bylaw changes are posted. Members will be emailed a ballot during the meeting and instructed in how to cast it at the conclusion of the meeting. The number of ballots cast will determine whether a quorum was met for the meeting. We look forward to celebrating all God has done in and through our FAC family in the last year!

Women’s Bible Study Registration Opens Tomorrow

FAC Women’s Summer Bible study is Ruth with Bianca Juárez Olthoff. All small groups will meet the week of June 14th through the week of July 26th at various times throughout the week. Sign up on our website beginning June 1st and ending June 14th. This study is for women of all ages as there will be groups for high school aged and college aged women, too!

Everything for the study is available through RightNow Media. Groups will be either completely virtual OR flex (meaning you could potentially meet face to face once we are permitted to do so). You will sign up by designating one of these choices.

There will be three levels of commitment to choose from:

  • LEVEL ONE: Watch the video teaching and completing the Live It Out section on handouts
  • LEVEL TWO: Also complete the homework assignments
  • LEVEL THREE: Also do an inductive study on the select passages

Hey Moms and Dads of FACKids, Middle School, and FAC Youth

FAC is releasing fabulous content for kids of all ages and we want accessing it to be SUPER easy. It is all located in one spot! We want to support you in helping your kids stay connected to their FAC family and God in this season. We also want you to know that as we regather as a church, we will be working on ways to make sure our kids feel a part of the service! Pastor Tim and Hannah have some great ideas for the younger kids, and we have a plan to help your family be familiar with our worship songs each week. We also pray that the new sermon series will capture the minds and hearts of adults and kids alike!

Livestream Team Training This Thursday

We need to build a totally brand new camera team, expand the current sound team, add light techs, and more PowerPoint team members to make our new livestreamed services a reality. So, if you fall in any of those categories, or if you are willing to learn, click here to sign up! Training is this coming week on Thursday, June 4, at 6:30pm in the sanctuary.

Evangelism 101 with Pastor Zach

Pastor Zach will be leading this virtual class via zoom for 7 weeks starting on June 14. Go here to get signed up. As a staff we have heard so many of you say that this season has opened up conversations with your neighbors like never before… But it is hard to make that jump from introductory conversation to intentional gospel conversation. We hope that this class will equip you to do that!

Baby Bottle Blessings for Assurance

Baby Bottle Blessings is a wonderful opportunity for First Alliance to come alongside Assurance, a local ministry that serves those facing unplanned pregnancy or struggling from a past abortion. The realities around these issues are staggering and heart breaking and Assurance offers these services free, with no judgement, no pressure, just help. This specific opportunity to participate in their regular fundraising initiative has been impacted by COVID-19 but they have made the needed adjustments to continue their mission. In fact, Assurance has saved an estimated 39 lives in the first 3 months of 2020!

We have had the joy to be a part of this campaign in past years and understand that Baby Bottle Blessings is critical to their ability to continue their mission. Though they made changes to protect the health and safety of all of those involved, there are 3 alternate ways to “fill a bottle”: mail a donation, give online, or text to give. We invite you to participate in this important initiative! Here are the ways you can “fill your bottle”!

  • Mail your donation to Assurance, 1517 Nicholasville Rd., Suite 405, Lexington, KY, 40503 (if you would, please include First Alliance Church).
  • Give online and fill out the simple, additional form to indicate that you are a part of the FAC family.
  • Text “give” to (844) 689-3103. Respond to the follow up text and follow their lead.

Have a great week, FAC family! See you online for worship this Sunday!
