Food Needs Near and Far
Categories: None | Tags: None
If you were here last Sunday, you learned about all that we do for our Partnership Ministries. This coming Sunday you will have the opportunity to provide people at two of our Partnerships with one of the most basic needs... food.
Beefhide Alliance Church in Eastern Kentucky runs a food bank that feeds the poverty stricken population in their area. This Sunday, bins will be available in the atrium to collect non-perishable food items to help stock their pantry.
Another partnership on the other side of the world is in need of food supplies as well. People in the Ivory Coast and our partnership ministry FATEAC seminary have seen food prices triple in recent weeks due to civil strife and political unrest. That would be like paying $23.99 for a can of coffee, $9.99 for a loaf of bread, and $14.99 for a gallon of milk. This week we sent a gift of $500 from our Partnership Ministry Fund to help faculty and students at the seminary simply feed their families. Our National Office has set up a special giving fund to help in this crisis. If you would like to help in giving to this, on your offering envelope simply designate your gift for Ivory Coast and we'll make sure it assists those in deepest need.
