Children are vitally important to God - and to us! We have a long tradition of directors, teachers, musicians, artisans and other volunteers whose hearts are geared toward kids. We welcome you to join us in the adventure of sharing the love of Christ with the young people He has entrusted to our care.
God has called the Church to assist parents in teaching their children to know, love and serve Him. This call motivates and guides us in all we do. The main emphasis of our ministry with children falls into five areas: discipleship, worship, evangelism, service, and fellowship.
We hold several assumptions about children in the church:
- The Bible is the central textbook, so everything we teach has its basis in the Bible.
- Parents are the primary teachers of their children in the ways of the Lord. We understand that this may be new to some parents, so we are ready to offer guidance when needed to assist parents as they raise their children according to Biblical family principles.
- Children are learners. Preschool and school age children are the focus of our teaching. Our methods are aimed at children learning, not adults teaching. Therefore, the methods we use and the concepts we teach are developmentally appropriate for the children we serve.
- Our teachers and caregivers are guides. The curricula we use provide opportunities for them to share Biblical truth that involves many different learning techniques.
